Goodmayes Primary school believes that Art is an essential part of children’s education and has a significant role in the taught curriculum. As well as developing children’s creativity and imagination, the Art curriculum taught will develop children’s knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own pieces of art and design which they are able to display and share with others. Through studying artists from different time periods and cultures, children will develop their knowledge of great artists in history. This will also develop children’s understanding of their own and others cultures. Giving them the confidence to incorporate elements from their own cultural heritage in their own ideas.
